This is my first time to visit New York on a Thanksgiving day. Too bad we're already late for the Macy's Parade. I just watched it on the plane. Hiro Nakamura and Nikki/Jessica, the characters from "Heroes", attended the show. They also presented some Broadway numbers from "Xanadu", "Young Frankenstein", and "Legally Blonde". I suddenly remember that I was planning to watch "Wicked" in a few days but I guess it won't happen due to the strike.
The flight was quick (only 47 minoots!). We were picked up by Tita Letty and Mel. We went straight to their house in Queens. Tita Mel designs textile and works for the biggest garment industry in NYC. We found a lot of her artwork in their apartment. She revealed to us that they get their ideas from Europe. They're currently working on designs that will be released in Winter '08. And they never repeat designs! Cool job.
Before heading to Tita Zonia's house for our Thanksgiving dinner party, Ogz and I had some pandesal with ham. My first meal of the day.
It took us more than 3 hours to get to Ringwood (traffic was bad in the Bronx area). We met Tita Zonia, Tito Frank (the hubby) and Dawn (the daughter). Their house has got a spectacular view of the lake. While waiting for our early dinner, I tasted some of the hors d'oeuvres that Dawn prepared. I like the pigs in a blanket and the pistachio nuts. After maybe about an hour, more people arrived. I met Ate Alet (with her hubby, Kuya Manny, and their two adorable daughters: Mariel & Mykaela), and her mother, Tita Lina, and sister, Tita Marlyn, Paopao with his mother, Tita Dotit. So many cast of characters! They asked about Raz too. Two years ago, Ogz and Raz spent their Christmas holidays with these guys.
It's time to eat!!! Later that night, I played poker with Ogz and Paopao. Pao is an aggressive player. He frequents Atlantic City too. He told us that his record is 13 straight hours! Ogz won in our game though.
We bid goodbye to the host. Some people brought home food too. Before I entered our car, I began to chill. I dunno what happened but I was shakin'! When we got home, Ogz gave me some meds. Tita Letty gave me some hot tea too. I was praying not to get sick in NYC.
