My Favorite TV Shows of 2009

Glee - This has got to be my super favorite show of last year. I'm a HUGE fan of their music and the characters (even follow some of 'em in Twitter). My iPod & iPhone both contain songs from this hit show. I sing along to April Rhodes' "Maybe This Time", Rachel & Kurt's "Defying Gravity", Mercedes Jones' "Hate on Me" and Rachel Berry's "Don't Rain on my Parade".

True Blood - When I first saw a bus in New York with a poster of this show a couple of years ago, I got intrigued. It's from the creator that gave me one of my favorite shows, "Six Feet Under". I knew that I'd enjoy this latest Alan Ball project. I got hooked because of the blood and sex. Teehee.

Dexter - OMG! Their season finale was quite a shocker indeed! I love how the show develops each character.

So You Think You Can Dance - We got 2 servings of this show last year. I think Jeanine (season 5) and Russell (season 6) both deserve to win. I'm happy that Shankman became one of the main jeeges (that's how Cat Deeley say it). On the downside, we didnt' get to see Mia Michaels' choreos =o( I thought the most memorable dance was the Mr. & Mrs. Smith-ish choreo of Travis Wall and performed by Legacy & Ellenore.

Desperate Housewives - last season was a good one, I must say. I love how Katherine's role progressed. I also love the Solis couple. Carlos (Ricardo Chavira) and Gabby (Eva Longoria Parker) look really great together. Of all the housewives in Wysteria Lane, Lynette still has her work cut out for her.

Lost - last season was a pretty exciting season for us, Lost fans. We got to see Jack's group going back to the island to rescue Sawyer's group. The show may have lost Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) but "V" welcomed her with open reptilian arms. Hehehehe...

It's the End of the Road, Sam

I think this is the second season's bestest episode. So many freakin' things going on with all the characters!

So that's how William Compton used to behave around his kind. Sex was wild and bloody messy. Total opposite of how Sam makes love. Too bad his partner is keeping sumpthin' from him. You just can't trust a woman with deep scratches on her back, no?Since Bill is still tied up with Lorena, I'm pretty sure that Jason will perform some heroic deed to save his sister from the crazy Newlins. I think Godric will make an appearance again this Sunday.

It's good that Tara saw the different side of MaryAnn. Our bull lady gets cranky in the morning especially when there's no hot water. Teehee.

Too bad we only have one scene with Jessica. She's hot in that one scene though. And I think the ladies are soooo digging Hoyt now.

I don't want my dog to die so I'm praying for some miracle to save Sam. Uhm, where the hell is drunken Andy?

Guess Who's Back?

I noticed right away that this episode looks like one of those episodes reserved for Valentine's Day presentation. Everyone seems so happy with their partners. We have Sam and the new love of his life, Daphne (who happens to be a shape-shifter). I have a feeling that their love affair will be short lived though. Then Terry & Arlene. Tara & Eggs (not too exciting anymore). Hoyt & Jessica are just the cutest couple (I thought they would do sumpthin' else involving the phone). Of course, there's Sookie & Bill.

Let's talk about the new character, Barry. Shouldn't he be more happy to find someone of his own kind? I hope we get to see him again sometime soon.

Jason finally got lucky inside the LoDI. He'll be surprised once Sookie makes her surprise visit there. It would be fun to see these two in the middle of some vampire action.

Is it just me who thinks that the photo of the young Tara, Sookie and Grandma Adele looks sooo Photoshopped?It's nice to see the "alive" version of Eric. And finally, we get to see Godric (so Dave Navarro-ish), who happens to be Eric's maker.Speaking of makers, guess who's back to stir things up? It's Eric's maker, Lorena. She knows how to make a grand entrance, eh?

True Blood costs 45?! (NSFW)

In this episode, it was revealed that a bottle of True Blood (synthetic blood) costs 45 bucks! Wow, that's expensive!

I adore Jessica. She's funny in this episode.

It's Tara's birthday and it's high time to finally taste some Eggs ;oP I love her reaction in the kitchen when Maryann told her to go flourish and never say no to herself. Maryann really knows how to throw a party, no? I must say that she looks beautiful in this episode.

So when Maryann does the shaking thing, she turns into that beast with the claws (the one that attacked Sookie & Daphne). You think her cook is the piggy creature? The guy in the middle looks like Steve Newlin, no? It's nice to know that Sookie ain't the only one who can read minds. We have a new character named Barry.

Go, Kaypono!

Melissa & Ade. A little mishap at the end but other than that, their disco number was fun & exciting and a good start for the show. I just love these two. Their waltz was just otay for me.

Kayla & Kupono. Their contemporary number from, none other than, Mia Michaels has got to be my favorite of the night. It was intense and powerful. I love their acting too. I'll bet my bottom dollar that we will see this number again in the finale.Caitlin & Jason. I didn't enjoy their foxtrot number nor their lyrical jazz one. They may be in trouble.

Jeanine & Phillip. Their Russian folk dance involved lotsa spinning. And that's about it. Jive was more fun. These two could be in trouble too.

Randi & Evan. NappyTab + Beyonce's "Halo" = entertainment. Samba, on the other hand, requires some sexiness. Too bad only Randi delivered.

Janette & Brandon. Their Argentine Tango totally, TOTALLY deserved that standing ovation (the first for the season?) from our jeeges. OMG! Goosebumps!!! Their Wade Robson number was cute too. Janette looked like Johnny Depp in the Willy Wonka movie.

I must say that I agree with America & the judges' decision on the Top Ten.

Hung

I trust HBO to give me quality programs. From "Six Feet Under" (finished all five seasons), "Sex & the City" to "True Blood".  I'm hoping that this new project given to Thomas Jane ("Punisher") ain't no exception.

I haven't been to Detroit (airport doesn't count) so it's nice to see what this place got to offer, even only in the background.

"Hung" is a story about this public school teacher named Ray Drecker who's trying hard to make ends meet. Our main character doesn't have anything but his big you-know-what and he uses it to his advantage. Only at this point, he doesn't fully know how yet.

You will really feel bad for Ray while watching this pilot. With a wife (Anne Heche) that left him for a dermatologist. With twins that are lacking in the beauty department. I can almost hear Angelina saying, "Loser ka, yaya!". 

I think the picture taking scene was funny.

Remember those rat-eating aliens in the 80's teevee show, "V"? Well, ABC is going to remake the show and it stars Elizabeth Mitchell (I will so miss her in "Lost"), Joel Gretsch (from "4400") and Scott Wolf (from "Party of Five").

I was a fan back then but I forgot some deets already. Needless to say, I'm excited about this upcoming version. I'm glad that Joel has a new show but I'm not sure about the Roman collar though. 

I Get That a Lot

Ogz introduced us to this show on CBS called "I Get That a Lot" where celebrities do ordinary tasks like waiting on tables, selling pizza or hotdogs or even fixing your computers.

It's so entertaining to see people like Jeff Probst tricking people at a grocery store that he's not the famous Jeff in Survivor. He'd even get requests to say "Your tribe has spoken". That was funny.

As a sampler, here's Heidi Klum serving/eating pizza in front of customers. She even thought about stripping 'cause her current job doesn't pay too well ;oP

This has got to be one of my favorite commercials from AT&T. It always brings a smile on me face ;oP

On the Telly

Okay, last week, I didn't get to watch my favorite tv shows 'cause of work. Thanks to the internet, I was able to catch up. Here's a roundup:

American Idol - Not sure if I like the new format. They will only get 3 contestants from each week for the Top Twelve. That means 9 contestants will go home crying/disappointed. And then to complete the Top Twelve, they will get some more from the pool and give them their last chance. I'm rooting for Danny Gokey (we call him "Robert Downey, Jr.") and Scott MacIntyre.

Lost - I'm really enjoying this season of "Lost". I'm happy that Jin is back and Jack & the gang are gonna save Sawyer and the rest of the island survivors. I want a Sawyer-Kate reunion.

Survivor - Sierra reminds me of Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo). I don't have anyone to root for yet. Too early.

Dancing with the Stars - Remember Chelsie Hightower from last season's "So You Think You Can Dance"? It looks like we haven't seen the last of this very talented gal. She joins the cast of DWTS and pairs up with Ty Murray (the hubby of Jewel). Oh, Dmitry too will be there. You can expect more chest-baring moments.

United States of Tara

Toni Collette is, for me, one of the best actresses that we have around. I loved her in "In Her Shoes" and "Little Miss Sunshine". She's one of those few people on screen that tug at your heart when you see them cry.

For fans of "Sex and the City', John Corbett (aka Aidan Shaw) is in the show as Tara's husband. And Diablo Cody, the writer of "Juno", is one of the executive producers (Steven Spielberg is another one).

For the first few minoots of the Pilot episode, I was, like, what the hell is going on? And then I figured out that Tara (Collette) has multiple personalities raising a dysfunctional family. What a weird combo!

The opening credit is cute. You'll see there the different personalities: you get "T" (she wears a thong), "Buck" (the biker dude) and "Alice" (a Bree wannabe). Tara refers to them as the "Alters".

I found a show that I could watch while waiting for "So You Think You Can Dance", "Californication" and "True Blood" to come back later this year.

Season Finale of True Blood

Am very happy with the way my favorite show has ended its first season. Bad guy got punished. Hooray. Bill to the rescue. Oops! Not quite. For a while there, I thought Bill was a goner.

Am on Team Sam all the way. I'm glad that he got some heroic action going on there (as a dog even!). Looks like he and Maryann have shared a past eh. What the eff is she doin' with that freakin' pig? We already have a shape shifter. What is she?
I'm excited to see what the writers have in store for their loyal fans next year. If you haven't seen any episode of "True Blood", shame on you ;oP

And the Winner Is...

After watching "Dancing with the Stars" last night, I grabbed the phone and voted for my Hot Mama, Brooke Burke. She truly deserves that mirror ball trophy.

TeeVee Landia

Quick run through on what's going on on tv land:

Prison Break - just in case you haven't heard yet, it's the last season of "Prison Break". Heck, they already killed off one of their most beloved characters, Bellick. I'm glad that they did a little tribute and not just forget about him. Our handsome hero, Scofield, is dying. Boohoo. I wanna see how they will bring down the Company though. I'm just hoping for a happy ending.

Gossip Girl - Watching Little J going back to her family is quite touching. I don't care about the new character who replaced Dan in Serena's heart. I'm still on Team Dan-Serena. I want the focus back to S and B, for Pete's sake!

Dancing with the Stars - And then they were three: Warren, Lance and Brooke. I'm gonna vote for Brooke on Monday come hell or high freakin' water.

Heroes - I'm on Team Sylar-Elle. They really look good together. In the next episode, it's gonna be pretty interesting because all our heroes will lose their powers. I'm pretty sure there's an exception though.

America's Next Top Model - It's clear that McKey would become the winner in this season. She deffo deserved it. She's come a long way from her awkward-boxing poses, no?

TV Land

I haven't blogged about my favorite teevee shows in a while. Lemme give you a rundown on what's happening on tv land.

True Blood. So now we know what lurks behind the character of Sam. He's a shape shifter. I knew that he's got a connection with that dog that keeps appearing every now and then. Otay, a vampire can choose whether to just bite a person or convert him/her. When Bill bit Sookie, I thought Sookie's gonna be a vampire in the first season right away. Amy (Lizzy Caplan) is very pretty. I didn't know she was also in "Mean Girls" and "Cloverfield". I think Terry could be the killer. I'm getting a weird vibe off of him from the latest episode.

Desperate Housewives. Oh, my G! I sooo miss Frances Conroy (Ruth Fisher from "Six Feet Under"). I'm happy to see her again on tv even if the character is not so substantial. Also, it's nice to see Mrs. McCluskey again. I thought they would retire her character. Did you catch Sprint making a shameless plug? Lily Tomlin joins the cast too. Yay! Oh, why are Lynette & Tom's kids so... uhm... fugly? They were cute kids!

Dancing with the Stars. Go, go, Brooke!!! The last woman standing. Love her. She deserves that freakin' trophy! Am gonna vote my ass off in two weeks. Len Goodman should go easy on her. She ain't a PRO, bro.

America's Next Top Model. Top three models: McKey, Sam and Analeigh. Hmmm... who am I rooting for? I think McKey would get the honor. But Analeigh is giving her a run for her money though. Our skater girl has deffo improved!

Can Look But Can't Touch

Ned and Chuck are back! I'm happy that one of my favorite teevee shows is back.

Their season premier was a bit shocking 'cause I don't remember the revelation that Aunt Lily is THE mother of Chuck happened in the previous one.

I so miss Olive (Kristin Chenoweth). She's sooo funny to watch.

Digby needs more camera time ;oP

The "Circus, Circus" episode was quite a color overload. The getting-the-clowns-out-of-the-car scene was hilarious.

Bloody Sunday

OMG! If you haven't seen last Sunday's episode of "True Blood", you bettuh get a copy ASAP. I really am happy the way this show is going. I've been a HUGE fan of "Six Feet Under" so my trust with Alan Ball has been established a long time ago.

In this episode, we learned how Bill Compton got to become a creature of the night. About time we see the not-so-pale version of Stephen Moyer.

Is it just me or Sam is hiding sumpthin' too?

The dog has some significance in the story, me thinks. Unless Alan Ball is just tripping ;oP

TV Land

So many things to watch on teevee nowadays. After a hard day's work, it's nice to just sit in front of the telly (or while eating din-dins too).

For this week, two shows will re-emerge: "Pushing Daisies" and "Private Practice". Can't wait to see my Addison again.

Prison Break. I'm getting used to the whole "Mission: Impossible" vibe. It's nice to see the actors working together for a change. This shouldn't be called Prison Break anymore 'cause nobody's in prison anymore.

True Blood. In this week's episode, we got a peek into the vampires' world through a cheesy bar called "Fangtasia". Too bad nuthin' much happened there. Jason (Ryan Kwanten) had some funny moments because of his stupidity. Does it say in his contract that he has to be nekkid in all the eps?

America's Next Top Model. Can't believe Clark's gone already. I think she deserves to stay for an ep or two. My bet is still Lauren Brie from Virginia =oP

Gossip Girl. After watching Chuck (Ed Westwick) for some time now, I think he's got the best role among the boys of GG. Also, I think he could pass off as one of the vampires in "Twilight". In fact, he could play Edward. Wait, is that a bag that B threw at S? Gossip Girl would love that. xoxo!

Dancing with the Stars. Rumba or Paso Doble. I enjoyed watching the performances since I ♥ these two styles of dance. Both are sexy. So I expected some hot dance moves from our contestants. I enjoyed Lance & Lacey's number. I think Len doesn't really like Lance. He's giving him sixes. I wanted more from my Brooke though. Whaddaeff is wrong with Kim? She cannot dance at all! Just too bad. We won't see her strut her stuff anymore.

Dancing with the Stars Premiere

"Dancing with the B-List Stars" is back. Last year, I got hooked watching this show from ABC. Now I'm excited because of the following reasons:

OMG! Brooke Burke! Are you kidding me? She's one HOT mama! I loved her on the E channel before. She is smokin' hot on the dance floor. I tote'ly enjoy watching her dance. Why is Derek Hough getting all the sexy ladies?

Second on the list is bootylicious Kim Kardashian. Too bad she cannot shake what her mama gave her.

Third is Lacey Schwimmer from "So You Think You Can Dance". One of my favorite dancers. She is paired with Lance Bass of "N'Sync". I couldn't care less about him.

And then there's the 82-year old Cloris Leachman. She brought the house down with her personality. She just cracks me up. What a bundle of joy!

I'm also glad that Maksim is back.

Corky Ballas is a deadringer of his son, Mark.

Why do I get the feeling that Rocco DiSpirito had too much to drink during the second episode?

I Need a Hero!

2 hours of all the Heroes characters we've missed. Let's start from the ones that we love.

Gabriel a.k.a Sylar is badder than ever. I thought he'd kill Elle (ma belle). Can't wait to see him kill the Level 5 mischiefs.

I'm really happy that the Petrelli brothers are still intact. Although Nathan has gone a little looney.

So Peter is trapped inside the body of this bald BAD guy. How the hell did that happen? I think his powers are gone temporarily?

It looked like Peter passed the torch to Mohinder Suresh. Would Mohinder be half-nekkid in all the episodes?

Nikki Sanders or not, Tracy Strauss is an icy fox. Her new power may be a side-effect of what was injected to her before. Whachathink?

I'm glad to see Claire reunited briefly with his dad, Noah Bennet. I found out from imdb.com that he is Jack Coleman.

Couldn't care less with what's going on with Hiro-Ando-and the Flash girl, Daphne. *yawns*

Maya is still useless. I see Mohinder shaking his head.
